Ghana Union Stuttgart e.V. – GUS - was officially registered (VR 7178, Court Stuttgart ) in November 2004 as a non-profit social and cultural organization of all Ghanaians in Stuttgart. Prior to the formal registration, the Union had existed
in several different forms for many years but the aims and purposes remained the same.
The idea to form Ghana Union again in Stuttgart was brought by Mr. Adu Gyamfi, Mr. Ansah Peprah, Mrs. Mabel Lang, Mr. Agyeman Badu and Mr. Kwaku Appiah. After a series of live discussions on Radio Ghana in Stuttgart, they were able to convince our brothers and sisters to
form a union Stuttgart.
As a non-political mutual aid organization, the objectives of the association include but are not limited to:
* Bringing together and promoting cordial relations between all Ghanaians in Stuttgart and between Ghanaians and other groups;
* Promoting and Sustaining our cultural interests and general welfare by representing the Ghanaian Community in relations with public officials in Stuttgart, Germany and Ghana.
As a social organization aimed at strengthening the Ghanaian Community, we share occasions of joy, such as births and marriages, and stressful situations such as deaths, illnesses and accidents through visits and get-togethers.
As a growing community with expanding needs, the union seeks to assist both members and all Ghanaians in Stuttgart area with immigration and educational problems. The Union has become a major resource for information about Ghana, the Ghanaian and African Communities.

Ghana Union Stuttgart is active member of UGAG (Union of all Ghana Associations in Germany)
Till 2005 the Ghana Union Stuttgart has registered about 112 members.
In year 2004 GUS has had 7 General meetings with an average attendance of about 25-33 members per meeting.
We have acquired a regular meeting place at the Stuttgart South Jugendhaus, Boeblinger Strasse 92 where we hold our regular meetings, every 3rd Saturday of a month
Ghana Union Stuttgart has helped Ashanti Union Stuttgart and BA Union Stuttgart to ship some Hospital beds to Ghana.
Ghana Union Stuttgart has acquired electrical blind typewriter for Ladies Club Stuttgart to be send to Akropong Blind School
We have solved some important social problems within the Ghanaian community in Stuttgart which are not worthwhile to be mentioned.
We have organised Ghana Independence Day Party for the 3rd time.
The Ghana Union Stuttgart e.V. (GUS) intends to achieve among others things following goals.
To get the youth in our community involved in the activities of GUS and to assume leadership role because the future lies in the hands of our youth.
Plan to organise a summer trips for the kids in order to get the kids who might not go on vacation, get some sort of recreational activities.
To organise the UGAG´s First Anniversary Party in Stuttgart.
To organise discussion rounds and documentary films.
To locate a suitable place where our children could go to and do their homework under the supervision a qualified teacher.
Ask the Ghana Embassy in Berlin to think of having a Consular General in Stuttgart which was the case some 20 years back.

Ghana Union Stuttgart offers three types of membership as follows:
Regular Paid-up Members
These are 18 years and over who pay their annual dues and attend meetings and events of the Union.
Associate Membership
All children 17 years or younger
Honorary Members
This is conferred on people who demonstrate their interest in the welfare of Ghanaians. It is subject to sponsorship and approval by the members of the Union.
